Ahmad Jayadiningrat (old spelling before EYD was Achmad Djajadiningrat) (born in Pandeglang, August 16, 1877) was the regent of Serang (1901-1924) and the regent of Batavia (1924-1929). He was also member of ''Volksraad'' of East Indies. ==History== The prince Aria Adipati Achmad Djajadiningrat was born in the Kabayan village, Pandeglang, August 16, 1877 and died in Purwakarta, December 22, 1943. His father was Raden Bagus Djajawinata (son of Raden Adipati Aria Natadiningrat, the Regent of Pandeglang), a forward-thinking district officer in Kramatwatu and Regent of Serang. His mother was Ratu salehah, originally from Cipete, Serang. He served as the Regent of Serang during the period of 1901-1924, and as the Regent of Batavia (1924-1929). He also served as the member of Volksraad (Public Council) and the member of ''Raad van Indie'' (an advisor to the Dutch Empire in Indonesia). The Djajadiningrat family has some influential people during the Indonesia's national movement. His oldest brother, Husein Jayadiningrat, was also the Regent of Serang and one of the pioneer of the science tradition in Indonesia and the first native Indonesian to earn a doctorate and professor in Indonesia. Ahmad was also active in some national movement organizations, such as in Jamiat Kheir as the early member.
